Our 10 favorite Sports towns!

Sports are a topic that attract the most passionate of fans, which leads to so much camaraderie, creativity, and festivity. That’s why there is something extra special about going on vacation in a town that is proud of, and defined by their sports teams. This is not a list of the cities with the most sports teams, or the best ones, this is a list of towns that feel capture the true magic of sports. From their bars, to their food, to their museums, these cities have integrated their sports teams into their culture, and that’s why we love to visit them. So here are our 10 favorite sports towns!

New York City, NY

New York City boasts a sports scene as diverse and vibrant as the city itself. From the storied Yankees, the energy of Madison Square Garden for the Knicks, "Broadway Joe" and the Jets,  or who can forget the New York Rangers battling the Los Angeles Kings for the Stanley Cup? When it comes to baseball, Yankee Stadium is unrivaled, and the intense rivalries between the local teams create an electric atmosphere that defines New York sports culture. 

Los Angeles, CA

With a sunny climate and a diverse population, Los Angeles is home to a multitude of sports franchises. The Lakers and Clippers dominate the basketball scene, while the Dodgers carry on a rich baseball tradition. The excitement of the NFL returned with the Rams and the Chargers, further solidifying L.A.'s reputation as a sports powerhouse. Los Angeles also has two MLS teams, the Anahaeim Angels, and the Los Angeles Kings, it's the most sports teams in one city in the US! But most importantly, Dodger Dogs are unrivaled as ballpark hot dogs, and you might even see as many Dodger hats as you do Yankee hats when you walk New York. It's a sunny, breezy, outdoor town filled with athletic people and forever associated with greats like Vin Scully, Magic Johnson and Kobe Bryant.

Boston, MA

Bostonians are known for their diehard passion for sports. The city's history is intertwined with iconic teams like the Red Sox in baseball, the Celtics in basketball, and the Patriots in football. Boston is home to the Michael Jordan of football, and maybe one of the most iconic figures in history, Tom Brady, so when it comes to sports towns, it's hard to deny Boston. Boston was also the setting for the show "Cheers" which followed a retired Red Sox player opening up his own bar, and between all the breweries and walkable areas, Boston is a great place to eat, drink, and watch sports all day. 

Philadelphia, PA

Philadelphia's sports fans are legendary for their unwavering loyalty and boisterous support. The Eagles, Phillies, and 76ers inspire fervent devotion, while the Flyers have a dedicated hockey fan base. The city's underdog mentality and passionate cheering make the sports experience in Philadelphia truly unique.

Chicago, IL

Chicagoans take their sports seriously, whether it's the Bulls in basketball, the Cubs and White Sox in baseball, or the Bears in football. The Windy City's sports history is storied, and the energy at Wrigley Field during a Cubs game or at Soldier Field during a Bears game is something every sports enthusiast should experience. Chicago is also famous for it's Chicago Style hot dogs, that MUST be enjoyed at Wrigley field, and it also is home to the Chicago Sports Museum, which is a fantastic museum about the history of sports not just in Chicago but around the country. It may be the definitive sports town.  

Cleveland, OH

Cleveland's sports culture is defined by resilience and loyalty. Despite facing setbacks, the city's fans stand by their teams, such as the browns in football, the Cavaliers in basketball and the Guardians in baseball. It's also the birthplace of LeBron James, possibly the greatest basketball player of all time, who returned home to win the Cavs their first NBA Finals. But we're not done there, an hour south of Cleveland is Canton, OH which is home to the NFL Football Hall of Fame, Cleveland is just drenched in sports and history.

Kansas City, MO

Kansas City may be in the heartland, but its sports fervor is anything but understated. The Chiefs' fan base is known for its passion, and Arrowhead Stadium is one of the loudest venues in the NFL. The Royals' World Series victory in 2015 only added to the city's sports legacy, and it's also home to a new MLS football club, and the Negro League Museum; a museum dedicated to the history of an important milestone in sports, and our culture. Meanwhile BBQ and Breweries are not hard to come by, as well as sunny days outside, Kansas City is a great sports town.

Denver, CO

Denver offers a unique sports experience with its stunning Rocky Mountain backdrop. The Broncos' Mile High Stadium is an iconic football venue, and the city's hockey team, the Avalanche, consistently draws a dedicated crowd. The Colorado Rockies and Denver Nuggets play here too, and have made a lot of noise in their respective sports lately. You also can't ignore the legacies of John Elway and Peyton manning who brought many championships home to the city. It also houses the really cool "National Ball Park Museum" and has one of the best craft brewery scenes in the country, Denver is a must when it comes to good sports towns.

Pittsburgh, PA

Pittsburgh is synonymous with sports excellence, thanks to the Steelers in football, the Penguins in hockey, and the Pirates in baseball. The city's teams have a rich history of success, and the camaraderie among fans is palpable, creating an unforgettable sports atmosphere. It's one of the most old-school and best sports towns, with the stadiums in walking distance of downtown, it was featured in a batman movie, and you can also visit the Roberto Clement and John Heinz museums, to absorb even more classic sports knowledge.

Atlanta, GA

Atlanta's sports scene has grown rapidly over the years, with the Falcons in football, the Braves in baseball, and the Hawks in basketball becoming major contenders. The city's hosting of the Olympics in 1996 further solidified its place on the sports map. It's also home to the College Football Hall of Fame, and Centennial Olympic Park which commemorates the Olympics held here in 1996, and it's also the town where Michael Vick set records as a NFL quarter back. It's stadiums are also centrally located, so sports it's just absorbed into the backbone of this town.
